My love of Diamonds

I mentioned in an earlier post about how I would like to work at the Smithsonian. This beauty is why. This center stone is 45.52 carats, has 16 diamonds surrounding and with a necklace chain of 45 diamonds. I saw this in it's glass case at the Smithsonian in 2000 and still remember it as one of my favorite moments. It drops down into the vault right from its case after the institute closes. Bonus: the Hope diamond is said to be cursed by anyone who possesses it. How intriguing!

Estimated value $200,000,000 - $250,000,000

It is pretty. I've seen it a couple of times at the Smithsonian. Although, I always thought it would be bigger than it is -- Like the size of a baseball!
