Recent Happenings

Another week has flown by and now it's Wednesday already...heck it's almost June already! Hard to believe. This past weekend was pretty nice. We had some hot days over the weekend but I still managed to get to the park for a 4 mile walk on Saturday and Sunday, Wilson even joined in on Sunday. He loves his trail walks and seems to do better in the woods than walking the sidewalks, probably because he has more to entertain him in the wilderness. We did some barbecuing on Saturday evening and went to the Nascar race on Sunday. It was a pretty good race and, for it being the longest race, it felt like it went by pretty fast. We had seats in the fifth row just before turn 1 and it was great! But so. many. people. The campgrounds and all surrounding areas were packed. Reminded me a lot of We Fest in Detroit Lakes, but with more rednecks :)  Monday was just a nice relaxing day spent reading and doing all the household chores.

The previous weekend, my mom and aunt were here and we explored the antique mall for 6 hours (we shut the place down), went to Reed Gold Mine for a history lesson, which turned out to be way more interesting than I thought it would be, and we got to walk down into the mine. Sunday was our big excursion as we drove to Ashville, NC to visit the Biltmore Estate. That place is absolutely gorgeous! We spent the entire day there and didn't see everything because it is so damn big, but we made sure to tour the house, do the wine tasting, eat ice cream, visit the gardens, and drive around the estate. I'm sure there will be another visit in the future.

As for the exercise front, I have been doing quite well so far. Lots of bicycling (indoor), some push ups/ sit ups, trail walks and an exercise dvd even thrown in there. I have also started working on drinking my 64 oz of water per day, which feels like water overload when you're not used to drinking so much, but I keep chugging away.

Not sure what this weekend will bring. The antique show is back in town and I have some things I want to do around the house so we shall see. How is your week going?
