Tuesday Tidbits

  1. Since it is almost the middle of the month, I figured I would give an update on my two challenges that I had started...two words: epic fail. I did the 30 day shred for 3 days and then got bored with it. Maybe a rotation of a few different tapes would be better. As for the coffee, I made it till the 5th. Oh well...
  2. I've slowed down my reading pace this month. I think i only finished 1 or 2 books so far.
  3. Think i may renew my magazine subscriptions to Fitness and Shape. Miss getting them every month and they are so overpriced in the stores.
  4. Brian and I watched the movies Looper and Trouble with the Curve. Looper was ok, nothing i need to see again. I did enjoy the second one. Clint Eastwood plays a great grumpy old man and the story was cute.
  5. I could use a long spa day with mani, pedi, facial, and massage. Sounds so heavenly...and expensive.
Until next time peeps...

Sunday Traditions

We are Sunday brunch people.  It doesn't happen every Sunday, but a good 3 out of 4 Sundays a month, we start off a lazy Sunday morning with brunch at one of our favorite diners.  There are three choices within about 5-10 miles of us and we try to rotate depending on what we are in the mood for that Sunday.  The diner closest to us has excellent french toast (one of my favorites), another one wins because it is the cheapest choice, and the third diner is farthest away but has a lot of southern foods we enjoy that the other two don't have.

Today, we chose the diner furthest from our house, Punchy's Diner, for our breakfast excursion.  It is a 50's style diner that has some great breakfast and lunch choices.  Today, we sat at the counter and watched the organized chaos of food flying out the kitchen windows and a whirlwind of waitresses keeping the patrons happy and full of good food.  I enjoyed some eggs, country-fried steak and hash browns while Brian enjoyed a similar breakfast, substituting chicken fried chicken with his meal.  The food was a delicious, stick-to-your ribs kind of breakfast and always a great way to start off a Sunday.  After breakfast, I picked up my Sunday paper, a large coffee and we headed home to relax and enjoy another beautiful day here in Charlotte.

These small little traditions always bring an extra bit of enjoyment to the weekend and is a nice way to start wrapping things up before another Monday approaches.  As for this evening, it's going to be burgers on the grill and maybe watching some of the Grammys.  I can't stand award shows but since this one includes live performances, I may at least catch some of that.  Then again, The Walking Dead starts up again tonight so that may capture my attention instead.

Until next time...

I'll Start on Monday

My new job, that is, not a new exercise routine. Yeah me! I had an interview on Tuesday and received a call on friday asking if i was ready to start work on monday. Ummm....hell yeah! I'll be working for a law firm in south charlotte (matthews area), which is a much better drive than my previous place. Looking forward to getting back into the working world and we'll see where this goes.

I think wilson will be sad to see me head back to work, he really enjoyed his daily walks and morning coffee rides but, on the other hand, he'll be happy to take over the couch again.

Until next time...
